Design-Build

In a design-build project, Harvey acts as a single point of contact for an owner by hiring the architects and engineers necessary to design and build the project as part of our contract. By using this delivery method, the owner doesn’t need to hire, manage or coordinate a group of contractors and sub-contractors and we can work to find the best design and implementation solution possible for the project. We also ensure a cohesive flow for the project and, ultimately, take responsibility for the design and construction of the facility. The client’s interests are our driving force in this type of engagement.

Many things come into play in a design-build project:

    • Relationships: knowing which companies and vendors are the best fit for the project goals, as well as strong labor relations and negotiating skills.
    • Communication: when dealing with multiple entities, communication plays a very important role, as does strong reporting.
    • Project Management: with so many elements in play, scope definition, team experience, technical skill and quality control are paramount.
    • Financial Management: close management of the finances of a project will ensure high value for the client.
