Exeter Regional High School

Exeter Regional High School

Exeter, NH

The Exeter Region Cooperative School District gained approval to construct a new 2-story, 330,000 s/f high school during the 2003 town meetings of surrounding towns contributing resources and students to the District.  Voters advanced construction of a new high school on 70 buildable acres on Old Town Farm Road in Exeter. The new  high school provides the District with an efficient and flexible floor plan for educational, athletic and community use.  The school houses four classroom wings totaling 108 instructional rooms, library and cafeteria.  The building also features a 1,000-seat auditorium and 2,000-seat gymnasium. Site development included 1,000 parking spaces, a softball field, baseball field, auxiliary fields and a track (around the synthetic turf football field).  Extensive infrastructure work was completed in early 2004 to allow for site access and utility connections.

An advantage for students and administrators was the building’s new location.  By constructing a new high school on a remote location the educational process was not be disrupted by adjacent on-going construction and the new building was completed in two years rather than the original plan of four years.
